Donor Frequently Asked Questions
What is your understanding of
stewardship?
Nations for Jesus
believes that all we have and are has
been given to us by God and one day we
will give an account to Him of the way
that we have managed this trust. Because
of our commitment to this truth, we
value gifts and resources that He has
entrusted to our care. This involves
wise planning and careful use of God’s
provisions.
Are my gifts to NFJ are tax
deductible?
Yes. Nations For Jesus Inc. is a 501
(C) 3 charitable organization recognized
by the IRS. All gifts are tax deductible
to the extent allowed by the law.
How is Nations for Jesus
accountable for its funds?
Our accounts are audited annually by
an independent accounting agency. A copy
of the auditor’s report is available
upon request. Your donations will be
used in the work of Nations for Jesus
under the direction of the Board of
Directors. The funds acknowledged are
under its control. And the ministry
reserves the right to allocate the money
to other projects when contributions
exceed to a given project.
What assets can I use to make my
gift?
You can use cash, personal check,
cashier's check, money order, credit
card, or appreciated stocks, and mutual
funds to make your gift.
What kind of assets could I give?
Gifts of appreciated investment
property held more than one year, such
as stock or mutual funds. Donating such
gifts can have tremendous tax
advantages.
What if I can not support the
ministry financially but I want to be a
prayer partner?
Prayer is the backbone of our
ministry operations. Nothing replaces
the power of prayer. Please fill out the
attached contact form to become a prayer
partner.
How can I contribute to Nations
for Jesus?
There are a number of ways to
contribute to Nations for Jesus. Gifts
can be made by cash, check, or money
order and mailed to: 485 Hulan Way,
Lawrenceville, GA 30044 or you can make
an online donation using your credit
card.
Do credit card donations have a
service fee?
There is a 3.00% service fee for each
credit card donation. This charge is
passed on to Nations for Jesus each time
you make a donation.
May I designate my gifts?
Yes. If you are burdened for a
specific project, you may designate your
gift to the choice of your project.
Does Nations for Jesus provide
receipt for contributions?
Yes. We mail a receipt for each gift
that we receive. The receipt will
indicate if the gift is tax deductible
or non-tax deductible in accordance with
IRS regulations.
How much of my designated money
goes to ministry projects?
If a gift is designated to a project,
100% of the funds are applied as
designated.
Do you accept stocks and mutual
funds?
Yes. If you have owned stocks for
more than a year, you are eligible to
deduct the full fair-market value from
income taxes and avoid capital gains
taxes. The more the stock has
appreciated the greater benefit to the
donor. Your tax advisor can help you
with the specifics. Please call donor
services if you are interested in
donating stocks or mutual funds. A stock
gift usually takes more time to process
than any other form of contribution. So
please allow enough time to ensure that
Nations for Jesus has possession of the
securities by December 31.
After the stock has been transferred
to our account, Nations for Jesus will
send you a letter stating the date, type
and the amount of securities that were
donated. We will also send IRS Form 8283
which you will need when filing your
return. The donor is responsible for
assigning the market value of the
securities on the date of donation. In
accordance with IRS regulations, we
cannot assign a value to the securities
for you.

Do you accept tangible personal
property donations?

property (such as real estate, land,
paintings, cars, airplanes, furniture,
and gems) to Nations for Jesus are tax
deductible at fair market value.
If the donated property is then sold
by NFJ immediately, the tax deduction is
limited to the amount received from the
sale or the fair market value, whichever
is less.
A donation of personal property
valued in excess of $5,000 must be
appraised by a qualified IRS approved
appraiser within 60 days of the
contribution. However, even if an
approved appraiser is consulted, the IRS
may choose to give its own appraisal.
